13.75oz Kaihara Selvedge Denim, Indigo

Classic Japanese indigo-dyed denim fabric with white and red selvedge produced by renowned and traditional Kaihara Denim in Hiroshima. This fabric is a traditional denim with narrow width which is used to make jeans where the jare edge is used as a finish in the side seam. Indigo denim that is untreated can be dyed off, washed separately at the start, or together with other indigo garments. Traditionally, indigo denim should not be pre-washed before sewing, the fabric can be soaked in cold water to reduce shrinkage in length afterwards. The jeans are worn as long as possible without being washed so that they mold to the body and get the right patina.
