Shozaburo Tailor's Scissors
Hand-forged tailor's scissors from a traditional factory in Japan.
The history of scissors dates back to the late 19th century, when Western culture and textiles found their way to Japan. Samurai sword production stagnated, and at the same time interest in the production of Western-inspired clothing, where thicker fabrics were used, rose. Better cutting tools were needed, but Western scissors were heavy tools. Thus, swordsmith Miura Shozaburo began his tailoring scissors production with the same accuracy and precision used when making traditional Samurai swords.
These scissors are powerful, precise and sharp, yet incredibly light in the hand!
